The Brian Jacket Letdown were formed in late 2004 by Will Harper (Lead Vocals, Electric Guitar, Ukelele and Harmonica), Thomas Phillips (Wurlitzer and Electric Guitar) and Dan Radclyffe (Drums and Percussion). After many a personnel change the line-up currently includes Alyssa McDonald on Bass Guitar and Gemma Ware on Saxophone, Reed Organ, Glockenspiel, Percussion, and other delights plucked from the band's treasure-trove of musical antiquaries.

In March 2007 the band released their single "Eat Your Friends", a rocking shuffle that picked up radio play from Lauren Laverne on Xfm (who also invited the band onto her TV vehicle "The Culture Show"), Huw Stephens on Radio 1 and Gideon Coe on BBC 6Music. It also garnered some rather nice reviews from the underground music press, some of which you can read below.

2007 and a large part of 2008 has seen the band mostly in the studio working on their debut album proper "Darling Bit Me" with assistance from one of the world's premier Dub/Reggae sound gurus Marcos Ferrari. Recorded and mixed by the band in various studios and houses, it features a cast of over 20 musicians and will see a late 2008 release, with a download of opening track "Sometimes" currently available online.
