04/08/08:

Few new gigs up on the gigs page, album's being mastered as we speak! Hurrah! Hopefully we'll have a release date soon...

30/06/08:

For TWO WEEKS from TODAY our song "Sometimes" will be available as a free download from the Genepool Distribution website. Don't delay, download it today! And tell your friends!

16/06/08:

Had a couple of gigs in the great outdoors this weekend, firstly in Essex and then in Gloucestershire. A nice relaxing weekend augmented by the presence of our lovely Gemma (saxophone) coming over from Parisian musical exile. Note to self: must play more gigs. We'll put some photos up soon...

The final album mixes are very nearly ready, and then they're being whisked off to Alan Douches in the US of A for mastering. He put the finishing touches on Sufjan Stevens' "Come On Feel The Illinois" and Animal Collective's "Feels". Maybe we should call the album "Feely Touchy Feely" to carry on the theme. At any rate it's nice to know that at least one person who knows what they're doing is involved in the creation of this album haha...

04/06/08:

Hello to anyone reading these lonely old pages! We've been mixing our album over the past couple of weeks, should be finished very soon. You can't understand how relieved that makes us feel, ha

Bit of a mix up with a gig we thought we were playing for Club Fandango. Turns out we aren't! We will be supporting our chums South on July 8th though, have a looky at our gigs page

22/04/08:

Few more gigs added, um, to our gigs page

16/04/08:

TWO website updates in the space of a week! ch-ch-check it out... we have been added to the bill at a couple of wee festivals, details are on our gigs page

10/04/08:

Damn I promised i'd update the site more but it's just not happening. The only updates we make are to say that we're STILL working on our album, and i'll reiterate that here too!! It is hard to be fair, having to work two jobs, work on an album, rehearse, play gigs blah blah blah. Oh, and tear myself off ebay.

We'll get round to being a proper functioning full-time band one day! We've individually been having quite a lot of success recently (commercial/popular music, journalistic and, um, personal), but not quite with band-related things... yet. We will take over the world soon, just you wait!

The plan I think is to release Sometimes and The Feast as a digital-only single soonish, followed by a 7" single and CD album release in September. Hurrah! Just got to mix it first, hence the purchasing of lots of vintage reverb units on the aforementioned online auction site...

07/03/08:

Hello there thanks for anyone who came down to see us at the Hoxton Bar & Kitchen. Was a good show we think, many thanks to our sound guru Ferrari for providing sonic interventions from the mixing desk.

We plan to go into the studio very soon to mix our forthcoming single. We're not sure whether it's going to be The Feast or Too Many Stones, but the b-side is definitely going to be Sometimes. All songs are listenable on our myspace page innit.

One small thing. Our next gig is on April 9th at The Macbeth, again in Hoxton. We are saddened to hear that Polar Bear are no longer headlining, but the good news is that they can't blow us off the stage with their jazzy chops...

21/02/08:

Damn we never update our site anymore, OK, i'm putting a stop to this NOW. To be fair we are still faffing around with our album which is coming up to it's 1st anniversary of conception.

The plan now is to relase a single as soon as possible, realistically in the next three months. It's probably going to be The Feast, after its been mixed half decently.

Meanwhile, our live shows are getting good, we had a nice turn-out at 93 Feet East the other day and we have fully integrated a hundred new instruments and FEMALE backing vocals into the show. Which is nice.

02/01/08:

Happy New Year to everybody who reads our site updates. Hope you all had a nice festive period.

We have a couple of gigs added to our list, firstly on January 23rd at a new folk venue called Power's Acoustic Room in Kilburn. We are sharing the bill with a band that goes by the intriguing name The Moon Men Orchestra... sounds good!

And then on 9th April we return to what is seemingly becoming a regular haunt, The Macbeth on Hoxton Street (London N1)

14/12/07:

Unfortunately our gig on the 18th on The English Maid has had to be cancelled by the promotor. Which is a shame. We were looking forward to it...

We have been notified of a review of our gig at the Notting Hill Arts Club from Organ Magazine. And it's very nice too. We wish they'd seen us a few days later at The Macbeth. We roll with saxophone now. And kalimba. And reed organ, glockenspiel(s), swanny whistle and stylophone. Oh well, next time. The review is HERE

07/12/07:

Exactly one month since the last update. I've been moving house. No internet. And no TV. The most productive last month in recent memory. Seriously!

We've since played three gigs since I swapped to play drums and found new bass player Alyssa (she plays with Scritti Politti too don't you know), and they've gone really well, apart from an iffy one at Notting Hill Arts Club. Due to not being able to mic anything up and generally playing with pained expressions on our faces. But Barfly and Borderline were great! Yay for Alyssa! and yay for me (Dan) on percussion! Getting better with every, um, rehearsal.

Also a big yay goes to our newest member, Gemma. Saxomophoneist/Percussionist extraordinaire, she is also not far away from grabbing the electric kalimba with her spare hand for some extra juju vibes on "Nearly Us"

She will be joining us at The Macbeth on saturday for her maiden voyage. You should come along and cheer our new brassy sound

07/11/07:

We're playing at the Barfly in Camden in a couple of weeks. If you want to come along please get your ticket (or perhaps tickets) in advance. They are £6 from ticketweb or £8 on the door. Bring your crew.

04/11/07:

IMPORTANT! Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will NOT be playing at the Cedar Room tomorrow. We are very sorry for this, as we have had to let Redbricks promotor Lee Gorton down who has always been a staunch jacket supporter.

Our next gig will be at the Camden Barfly on Monday 19th. Apparently tickets are £6 in advance and more on the door, so it would be advisable to get tickets early should you wish to come along.

24/10/07:

We have some more gigs in November & December. See them here.

19/10/07:

No such luck with finding a headliner for our barfly gig. Connan & The Mockasins are unavailable. Boo! Any suggestions?

We've also unfortunately had to cancel our gig at the lock tavern on 25th october. We will try and reschedule another soon.

15/10/07:

Hello. Monitor mixes (tech-speak for listenable reductions of multitrack recordings into a stereo pair. innit) are surfacing of our newborn, unreleased debut album.

So far we are able to listen back to five songs with everything playing back at the same time (joy); they are Too Late, Wolfie Boy, The Feast, Wax Fruit and Sometimes. I would describe them respectively as a waltz accompanied by string quartet and beer bottles; a ukelele ditty about a circus freak, an uptempo psych-pop number with progressive rock moments; a steely mariachi shuffle and 'jazztime nice' respectively. But that's just me

In case anyone was planning to come along, our gig at the Barfly has been pushed back a week to the 19th November. We are hoping that a rather marvellous band from NZ called Connan & The Mockasins are going to come and play too. You should all go and listen to them immediately they are damn good. Sounding somewhat like Hendrix guesting on Sesame Street.

In other amazingly exciting news we have managed to acquire an Optigan (stands for Optical Electric Organ). One of literally a handful in the country (it was never sold in the UK), this rare beast is an organ that plays optical discs (!) which convert changes in light into sound. It's been described as a "sampler from the 1930s" and is basically an toddler's version of the mellotron. Needless to say it sounds amazingly shite and we love it. The website optigan.com will tell you everything you need to know and oh so much more...

17/09/07:

Yes, still quiet here on the brian jacket front. We're still in t'studio, will be recording up until the end of this month. October should see the surfacing of some rough mixes, which we will use to arm our manager johnny and unleash him on the unsuspecting A&R hordes. It's been a long time coming but our debut album will be ready soon! Dunno when it will be released though...

In other news Brian Jacket has been acquiring all sorts of new instruments... two glockenspiels, a 3 octave xylophone, a dulcitone (rare celeste-type keyboard instrument), a xylomatic, electric kalimba and autoharp... hurrah! We are currently recruiting for 2 new band-mates to help make the songs sound like they are on record. They MUST be able to play the saxophone though, hmnn. Tricky.

30/08/07:

On a recent journey on the internet, after watching the latest installments of R Kelly's Trapped in The Closet, I came across a nice set of photos by a certain Joe Lee on Flickr. Here they are, taken at The Water Rats in March, presumably when we supported Misty's Big Adventure? Well, they're very nice. Cheers Joe!

29/08/07:

Hello... we have an acoustic 3-piece gig at The Cedar Room on Upper Street (near Highbury & Islington tube) on Monday 24th September. Entry is FREE! For some more details go here. This is a rescheduled date which was initially at the Proud Gallery on 18th September. Stables Market is closing down to make way for Topshop and other high-street delights, and the Proud Gallery is going with it.

16/08/07:

A whole month without updating the site... that's how much recording we've been doing, I haven't even had time to sit down and post links of naked men playing coca cola bottles and flutes in the amazon basin. Let's make up for lost time right HERE

Speaking of YouTube (officially the best website ever), i've set up a brian jacket 'channel' on there. I recommend it as your one-stop-shop for great music-based videos. But then I would. You can find it HERE. I've added our videos for 'Eat Your Friends' and 'Me & My Dog' too so feel free to watch them and share with your pals. Especially if you have thousands of pals.

In other news we heard that the good people at The Sunday Times saw fit to mention our name being dropped in their interview with American actor and mega music-fan Elijah Wood. Cheers! Nice to be mentioned alongside Field Music too...

19/07/07:

We are starting to pencil in a few gigs from September onwards. If we haven't finished the album by THEN, we all must quit and become rich merchant bankers. Have a couple confirmed in September already, firstly the Mad Dogs and Englishmen festival, being held at a music studio/farm in Milton Keynes on 8th and 9th of September. Top rawk talent is being provided by the likes of Blood Red Shoes, Victorian English Gentlemen's Club, The Hoosiers, !Forward Russia! and, um, The Twang. And us! Hurrah!

For a tiny bit more info visit THIS. You can get tickets there and everything, only £49 for the whole weekend. There are limited numbers so it will sell out, but not because of us! Some of the other bands are fashionable amongst the indie mafia...

Secondly we have a gig at Proud Gallery in Camden (nice venue) for Lee Gorton's Down At The Redbricks night on 18th September. Double Nice.

Also, we are awaiting news of some dates with Ralfe Band, who have certainly become my favourite group after finding their album on sale in Borders. We will be most happy to support them, they're brilliant:

Ralfe Band Myspace

05/07/07:

Hello... Long time no speak as Jacket in studio. Strings, Brass and Wind all recorded. Its sounding great, so huge thanks must go, in no particular order, to Ed (Tuba), Naomi (Clarinet), Rupert and Dave (Trombone), Lucy (Bassoon), Emily (French Horn), Mike (Trumpet), Hugh (Oboe), Kyla (Flute), Liam (Viola), Rosie (Double Bass), Fiona (Violin) and Hayley (Cello). And Saffron (Saxophone)!

Look at some more photos HERE

Meanwhile, buy a copy of this fortnight's Artrocker magazine. Brian Jacket is featured with a full page and shiny photo. Some nice quotes to be snatched off there for our naughty PR needs methinks.

You can buy it in WH Smiths, Borders, all the usual places. Or buy it Online too

Or if you don't want to buy it at all, read the article HERE

Plus! We're doing a FREE gig at The Lock Tavern (Chalk Farm Road, Camden, London NW1) on the 26th July. Be there! Or not.

14/06/07:

We made a new Podcast! Well, I say podcast but it's not really. Nothing to do with iPods. Just 40 minutes of music that you can do whatever you like with... Online Mixtape would be a better term. This one's a collection of some of the things we've been listening to in the studio for inspiration and all that good stuff. Features Tom Waits, The Ventures, Broadcast, Stackridge (but of course), Gary Numan and many more BJL favourites. Download it now from our podcast page

Also, we're commencing the recording of our orchestral musicians! Time for some Tuba, it's the hour of the Oboe etc etc. First up last Sunday was master saxophonist Saffron Beagley, who put down some 1920s tones on our ukelele song "Sometimes" and also from free-jazz squawking at the end of "Nearly Us" (the song we've ended every gig with since way back when). Saffron's going to join our merry band one day, she just doesn't know it yet...

We didn't really take any proper photos which was a shame, but we've added a few to the studio gallery anyway

08/06/07:

Our gig at The Spitz was a strange affair... but we like to think that we did a good show anyway. Our pals and avid Jacket fans Carys and Becky from Kid Vinyl came along and did a review. You can read it HERE

05/06/07:

Damn, never seem to be able to get on here any more... too busy working (either on the record or to pay the rent) and fretting about how to transpose musical arrangements for Alto Saxophone and French Horn...

First things first, i've updated the Shop section finally so that it links to the new Genepool Records online store (that sounds pretttty american). You can Hooves for £5.99 (bargain!), plus Piratas on Vinyl/CD for £1.99 (uhhh, bargain!) and Eat Your Friends on Vinyl/CD for £1.99 too (double bargain). Huzzah! Visit the Shop now! HERE

Meanwhile, the recordings are going OK, as previously mentioned our sound engineer has gone abroad to do some real work, and we've been left at the controls, fumbling around with mics and guitar amps and generally not knowing what we're doing. It's all sounding good though so it's alreet.

Gigs at The Luminaire and Death Disco were fun, we played with some terrible bands, some good bands, and we were a mixture of the two!

In other news, we have a gig lined up at a festival on 8th August, called Mad Dogs and Englishmen... thinks its going to be somewhere just North of London. And more bizarrely, we're playing a gig at a huge Indian music festival in september, I hear that Shilpa Shetty is playing too! Not exactly sure who she is, but apparently she was the victim of racial abuse on Big Brother! Cool! um, NOT cool.

22/05/07:

OK we have a couple of decent gigs coming up which should be fun. Firstly, on Sunday 27th May we're playing at a launch party for a new book by Julian Ridgway, a top music journo who likes us so he, um, invited us to play at his party! It's at The Luminaire, a multi-award winning music venue in Kilburn. Much better than your average toilet venue... and, its FREE!

To get on the guest list follow the email link on the venue website

Also, we're playing Wednesday 30th May at Death Disco. Held at the Notting Hill Arts Club in West London, it's a famous indie night run by Alan McGee. We've played there before and it was great. Apart from the twats in the support band who heckled us for our entire set! Skinny-Jeaned w**nkers

The album recording continues in various nooks and crannies... we were recording piano, accordion and harmonium at Tom's house the other day, it's all sounding rather beautiful we think. When the strings and brass are on there we should be left with some sumptuous treats! Look at some more photos HERE

09/05/07:

Brian Jacket is developing somewhat of a "midas touch" when it comes to gigs. Yesterday we heard that Down at The Redbricks is no longer being held at The Black Gardenia in Soho anymore... so Tuesday 15th May is cancelled

And even worse! The lead-singer of The Ralfe Band has been hospitalised! The gig in Brighton on friday is cancelled too! Our next gig will therefore be on Friday 18th May, at Shot By Both Sides.

In better news, I yanked all the frets off one of our bass guitars, and now it sounds like pure 80s jazz

07/05/07:

We found a review of Eat Your Friends on the top music-geek website Drowned in Sound. Which was nice. If you have a DiS login then get on there and express your disapproval at our 6/10 rating. Mediocre...

04/05/07:

Gig cancellation ahoy! Sorry, but the Tunbridge Wells Forum (5th May), Cargo (9th May) and Manchester Night & Day (12th May) gigs have all been cancelled. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

I certainly am making up for all those days we've been unable to upload... there's now a new and improved biog section with a selection (i.e all) of reviews we've had over our long career.

Also, a new podcast on its way! kind of. Of stuff we've been listening to during the 'recording process'

03/05/07:

Thank god, was starting to think that i'd never be able to update the site again. Computer troubles...

Anyway, managed to sort it out and have uploaded all manner of new photos.

1. Recording Studio Gallery

2. New Press/Live Shots

Thanks must go to Hayley Jukes and our pal James Dewar, who came down and took some jazzy shots when we were recording. He's also responsible for our nice new "press" photos, and has contributed some photos to our live photos section too, alongside Hugh McDonald and Mark Sepple. Cheers lads!

23/04/07:

Just found out, the gig on thursday is FREE! So, yes, Duke of Uke, Hanbury Street E1, Thursday 26th April, Free entry, onstage 9:30pm. Get yourself a mandolin while you're there too.

Plus, we've confirmed our presence at the Up at the Redbricks Alldayer on May 20th. It's going to be in Salford (Greater Manchester) in an old mill and it should be a jam-filled day of psychedelic folk-rock loveliness. Tickets are £10 but all manner of bands are playing including The Draytones, The Monk's Kitchen and some strange prog band from Japan. Sweet.

19/04/07:

Couple of gigs have come through, firstly next thursday 26th april at the marvellous Duke of Uke shop off Brick Lane in London. London's premier ukelele and banjo shop no less. Will is a regular customer... we're on at 9:30pm

Also, on the 16th June we're playing at a small festival called Winterwell. The location is secret, but it's somewhere in Gloucestershire. You can access the website here but you have to put in 'summer' as the password to gain access. It's a 'private' festival y'see, you have to know someone who knows someone to get a ticket etc. Bit like gmail.

18/04/07:

Just come out of the studio after our first bout of recording. Which was nice. We need to get hold of a couple of cameras which were snapping away over the week, and we'll try and put up some pics soon. Drums being played in the toilet, the toilet being played as a drum, toilets playing the drums themselves, you get the jist. All sorts of recording japes were afoot. Its all sounding great, which is the important thing! Big thanks to Marcos Ferrari and Hayley and Ellis from Shiftworks Studio.

Couple of gigs firmed up, details on the gig page. First is in Brighton on the 11th May supporting the Ralfe Band. They were the guys in the triple-fit knitted jumper of 'Old Greg' episode-fame, for all you Mighty Boosh trainspotters. Second is 12th May in Manchester with our pals South, currently in the studio working on their fourth album. Good luck lads!

06/04/07:

We have a feature about us up on Gigwise, which is a music website. Which is nice.

04/04/07:

Oh dear, Psapp have pcancelled their pperformance ptomorrow. One of them is ill or something. Hmm. Itchy Beard... Well, we're playing anyway! We're easy! And, it's FREE! Yes, FREE gig at Cargo for us yes siree bob

Also, we've cancelled our gigs in Manchester, Southport and Liverpool at the end of the month! Sorry! We need to concentrate on recording our album... it'll be worth it in the long run we promise!

29/03/07:

The Video for Eat Your Friends is finished! Big thanks to Matt @ Framestore for this. It is up on our videos page or the direct link is here. Make sure you turn the sound up as it's really quiet...

Also, our first ever interview has been written up, hidden away on the website for montreal/toronto/new york/london based magazine UKULA. It's just launching the print version in London so it might be found lying around in record shops/cafes etc around town soon.

You can read it here, following the link once you're there to the "music room".

The fruits of our second ever interview should be found soon in an issue of Artrocker magazine. We'll let you know when it's out!

26/03/07:

Ooh haven't posted for a while, sorry. Hope those of you who made it to Water Rats to see us had fun. Some very nice people at Frink Music and Gigwise reviewed the gig and very nice they were too!

Other reviews still coming in for Eat Your Friends too, which is well good innit. We're going to add a press section to the website, now we actually have had some press!

The recording is coming along great, we've demoed about 14 tracks now, and just doing things like writing string and brass parts, and hiring in gear and stuff, ready for the start of it all in april! Very excited!

14/03/07:

We be playing a gig with feline-loving electronic pop people Psapp at London's Cargo on April 5th, the very day before we set foot in the studio on our recording odyssey... Yes, Psapp of "themetunetogrey'sanatomy" fame! have a look at their website here.

Get tickets here, if ever we could recommend a gig you should actually go to, this be it! Tickets are ten whole pounds each, but this is a proper good gig innit with a nice posh headliner

13/03/07:

OK... Eat Your Friends isn't in the shops... it can be downloaded (Woolworths.com, 59p! or pay 20p more if you want that feelgood apple smugness). The physical release date has been set at the beginning of April, so 3 weeks or so. I know you're all dying to get a copy! both of you!

Still a few more reviews coming in for it, including a nice one from gigwise. There's a new one from Frink Music, which includes perhaps the most bizarre comparison we've yet had... these kerazy music journos eh?

A band trip is on the cards to go and see Arcade Fire on thursday, we are most excited. Their new album does sound like The Killers with extra French Horns though.

Also, we've got a few new gigs up on the agenda...check it out you millipedes

05/03/07:

Our single Eat Your Friends is out today! It feels like a long time coming... we still won't play it live though... too commercial...

The formats are 7" Vinyl (Available from discerning record shops and larger HMVs) and download. If you are on a computer with iTunes installed then you can get it HERE. Alternatively google "brian jacket letdown eat your friends" and you should find other outlets.

Cmon, it's only 79p!

Here's another review we found for it too:

Music OMH

03/03/07:

Thanks to those who came down to see us at Death Disco and 'Another Music=Another Kitchen' at the Proud Gallery this week. Nice to see new faces at the gigs, please spread the word and bring pals along next time!

Photos of Death Disco are up on a site called Medicated and Sedated. A very nice chap named Mark Sepple came along to the Proud Gallery and took some pics there too:

More radio play this week too... on Huw Stevens Radio 1 show again (we were in the van on our way home with Radio 1 on, and we still managed to miss it... talking, dodgy radio reception etc) and Gideon Coe played 'Me & My Dog' the other day on BBC 6 Music. Sweet.

A nice review of Eat Your Friends up on this rather homemade looking website called Trash Hits too. Don't forget it's out on Monday!

27/02/07:

Tapestry was great! We wish everywhere we played was as cool as that. This night on Thursday at the Proud Gallery is supposed to be well trendy, nice to know that we're down with the 'cutting edge'... I thought Kevin Ayers was cutting edge, well I got to get hip to the scene and party with the new-rave kids daddy-o... hmmm, that's jazz talk

Well, they've done a nice flyer for it which you can see here or on our myspace page

While you're on the myspac have a look at our new video for Me & My Dog, put together by our resident puppet-film-maker and lead singer extraordinaire Will Harper. He did all the drawings himself! maybe.

21/02/07:

We're getting "Eat Your Friends" played on Radio 1 tonight! Apparently! By Welsh bastion of good taste and new music peddler Huw Stephens. His show goes out from 12am-2am, tonight (Wednesday 21st February). Well, technically it's thursday 22nd but nevermind.

If you hear it then make sure you text in or email to say how marvellous we are and how we should be played more on the radio etc etc etc

20/02/07:

Had a nice review of "Eat Your Friends" from High Voltage, which is a manchester-based magazine/website. Does compare us to Belle & Sebastian though... ugh

High Voltage

19/02/07:

We've gotten wind of not one... not three, but TWO reviews of our last couple of gigs...

Reviews, eh? they're like buses

Disorder Magazine

Playmusic

17/02/07:

The nice people at The Culture Show sent us a DVD of the episode that we were on (January 20th). It has promptly been uploaded to the internet, and you can now find our 58 seconds of fame (oh baby) on our videos page.

15/02/07:

Ohmigosh how the Brit Awards is an absolute utter travesty of a corporate joke shitfest, but if you didn't see the Scissor Sisters performance, you HAVE to see it... if Brian Jacket ever makes any money we're gonna employ some fake-leg operators too

14/02/07:

Thanks to everyone who came along on a rainy tuesday to see us at The Enterprise... quite possible the most shambolic gig we've ever done! But that's how we like it! Six musicians just didn't seem like enough though, I think we need to get a Woodwind ensemble in there too

Looking forward to Tapestry now (23rd Feb)... it's a great venue, proper Phoenix Nights (it's even on Phoenix Road!), glitter curtain and everything. Lots of great bands have trodden the boards there like Archie Bronson Outfit (respec'), Field Music, The Boy Least Likely To and The Magic Numbers. Now it is the turn of the jacket. Make sure you're there to ROCK in a mild way oh yeah

Also, for all the laydeez out there, listen out for our single "Eat Your Friends" (7" out in march don't forget) in branches of Topshop nationwide! You couldn't make it up...

05/02/07:

I've put a new blog up on myspace. I will be honest, it doesn't feature many different pieces of news that can't be found on this very page, but just in case you're someone who hangs on our every last word, you can read it here!

31/01/07:

We've started to tentatively organise the recording of our debut album, provisionally titled "Phase 2: Horse Power". Very pleased to announce that it will be being recorded by the supremely talented Marcos Ferrari, who has engineered tracks by talents as diverse as Nacao Zumbi (only like, the best band in the world), Belle & Sebastian and Sepultura (woah there). Think that pretty much covers the full spectrum of the jacket. Folky to heaaaavy riffs with clattering percussion. Yes!

We are also looking for musicians to feature on the album, so if you play or you know anyone who plays the following, tell them to get in touch (Double Bass, Cello, Viola, Violin, Tuba, Trombone, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Bassoon, Clarinet, Oboe, Flute or Harp)! Oh, and Hurdy Gurdy.

We're looking to record the album in April this year, so expect some new tunes up on the myspac around then...

25/01/07:

Ahem... seems like we're NOT playing with Field Music tomorrow... yet another tapestry mixup, harumph. We have been told we can only play acoustic, i.e one acoustic guitar. That is not how we 'roll' so... our next gig will be at The Enterprise on 13th Februrary as advertised.

24/01/07:

Many thanks to those of you who came to a very stuffy 'The Black Gardenia' last night for another dose of Down at the Redbricks fun. Twas nice to play somewhere where the bar staff wear zoot suits, even complete with spats. Good to hear stuff like 'Night Flyte' by Pentangle on the decks too. Blighted by technical difficulties we were but we got through it in our own 'special' way. Many thanks to Luca from The Monk's Kitchen for helping out on the sound by the way.

On Friday (26th) we're doing a bit of an un-announced appearance at Tapestry in Euston. We're just doing 15 minutes or three songs, but in support of Geordie art-rock soulsters Field Music, a great band with a really good new album out this week. They are pretty popular lads, so hopefully we might convert a few new fans to the way of the jacket

19/01/07:

The chaps at Down at The Redbricks have made a lovely flyer for the gig on tuesday, with a delightful medieval theme in the tradition of our prog forefathers. See it HERE

+ Don't forget to watch us tomorrow night on your televisual apparatus. We are appearing on BBC2's The Culture Show, starting at 7:10pm on saturday

Oh yes, and please download our podcast as well!!! It's a collection of nice stuff from Brazil, psychedelic rock and samba all from the 60s/70s. Ahh we have such a futuristic musical vision. Don't have a clue about RSS feeds and all that (apparently that's the technology for making proper podcasts that people can subscribe to) so in the meanwhile just go to our podcast page and right click on the link to the mp3 and download away.

11/01/01:
